My fall racing season is about to take off in a BIG way! As October ends so does the busy time of year for high school marching band, meaning less time for me at work and more time to get in some quality races. Finisher medal designs are starting to roll out for the fall/winter events, here are a few that I’m excited about.
1) St. Jude Memphis Marathon
One of my favorite events of the year and their medals are always something to marvel at. Last week they released this image of their medal lineup. #Allthesparkle
The St. Jude Marathon is Decmeber 5, there are still spots available for the marathon and the 5k.
2) runDisney Infinity Gauntlet Challenge
I won’t be running this event this year, but I’m still really excited about this medal concept. Completing both the Captain America 10k and the Avengers Half Marathon will earn you this special challenge medal. When runDisney released the artwork last week a lot of people were unhappy about it. It was pretty enough or “Disney” enough. The comic book fans of the runDisney world rejoiced! It’s exactly what we want to see. The back side of the medal features the Space Infinity Stone. Creating a drive and a reason for runners to come back each year to collect all 6 stones.
These pictures came from a post by someone that was at the Chicago Marathon last week.
Personally, I think the Avengers finisher medal lineup is the best that runDisney has to offer this year (with the exception of Marathon weekend). I can’t wait to see what they do for Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon to try and out do these.
3) Route 66 Marathon
This race is one that I’ve been eyeing for a few years and am really looking forward to finally running it this year. There was a great a deal happening for the first day of registration to celebrate the race’s 10th anniversary. One great thing about this race is the special versions of their medals for the Marathon Maniacs, Half Fanatics, and the 50 States Club. I love being a part of the Maniacs & love seeing events that support our club.
4) The Louisiana Marathon
In January I’ll be returning to Baton Rouge for the 3rd time to run in the Louisiana Marathon, to be honest though this will be the first time I run the full marathon. I’ll be leading the 4 hour pace group across 26.2 miles of all Baton Rouge has to offer. This is a great event that I always praise for their post race festivities. They’re redesigned their finisher medal concept art for their 5th Anniversary year. Again… #allthesparkle
You know this one right? My virtual run to benefit St. Jude. I’m still really pumped up about this medal. Registration numbers haven’t been as great as I had hoped & time is running short. Registration closes this weekend. You not going to want to miss this one!
Once again… #allthesparkle
