Five Things Friday 2/28

1) Little Rock Marathon

It’s race week in Arkansas.  I’m gearing up for my 11th marathon in my 11th different state!  and oh, have you seen the size of that finisher’s medal? Geez…

2) Wine and Dine Half Marathon

I am all registered for the 2014 runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon in Walt Disney World! The race takes place November 9 at 10 pm. I’ve been waiting to run this race for a few years now and am very excited to finally be running it. Check out my post about the race and registration from earlier this week.

3) Once a Runner

I opened my mailbox earlier this week to find a package from a friend of mine from college.  It was a book entitled Once a Runner by John L. Parker, Jr. It is a fictional novel about a student who devotes his entire existence to reaching his goals on the track.  I can’t wait to get started on it over the spring break holidays.

4) Red Bean Running Club

I’ve run with them the past 2 weeks and have already made some great new running friends.

5. See Sharp Run Boston

Speaking of running friends…

Screen Shot 2014-01-30 at 7.51.58 PMMy friend Linzie Starr was accepted earlier this month to run in the Boston Marathon through the Boston Bruins Foundation charity program.  I can’t think of very many runners that I’ve had the privilege to spend time with that could possibly be more excited than Linzie is.  He is well on his way to achieving his fundraising goal and appreciates all the help and support along the way.  If you’re looking for a charity runner to support make it Linzie!

You can donate to his campaign here!
