Let there be light!

Late evenings at work combined with earlier sunsets mean more of my training runs are happening in the dark. Tuesday night I pulled out my gear for a cool winter night run complete with long sleeve brooks tech tee put my light clip on the bill of my visor and set off on the road. I was quick to discover that my lamp was all but dead. The $3 clip on LED I found on amazon was no longer going to cut it, I couldn’t see the ground directly in front me! So I went to my local Fleet Feet yesterday in search of a headlamp I walked out with a Tikka 2 made by PETZL.

This lamp is light, bright, small, fits comfortably on the forehead and didn’t cause any uncomfortable on my run. The light itself has three settings maximum, economic, and strobe. The light has 4 high powered LEDs that shine at up to 40 lumens in maximum mode and feature easy push button on top to rotate modes. The light is adjustable on it’s base and can be tilted downwards if need be. Overall a great buy and a great lamp. Highly recommended if you find yourself logging miles at night. The lamp comes in a variety of colors, retails at $30 and can be purchased by clicking the link below.

In other news, I guess I need to start doing some goofy training and stringing together a few long runs. Less than a month and that’ll be wrapped up.

Plus St. Jude Finisher Certificates are up!
