Great news! I successfully made it through my entire Spring Break without doing a single thing on my to-do list. It’s a real accomplishment to sit around for 9 days and seem to accomplish nothing of any importance. A well needed time of relaxation though. After considering a number of factors last week I made the decision to not travel to D.C. for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. (Turns out the weather was miserable on race day, cold and wet all morning.) So my 20th marathon celebration is being delayed a week.
This Sunday I will be running the Publix Georgia Marathon and yes, it will be my 20th Marathon! It’s hard to believe I’ve tallied up this many 26.2 mile finishes already. I am excited about running in Atlanta this week for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I am leading the 4:15 marathon pace group. I loved pacing the Louisiana Half Marathon a few months ago and can’t wait for another pacing opportunity. The Marathon Maniacs community is an incredible one to be a part of and I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity to serve on the Pace Team! Secondly, in the 2013 Georgia Marathon was my first time running a sub 4 marathon! I’m excited to be back again this year. Brooklyn and I will be travelling early Saturday morning making the 7-8 hour drive to Atlanta and will be stopping by the expo that afternoon. It’s going to be a long day, but worth it on Sunday.
And oh yes, there will be cupcakes.
