November 2016, what an incredible month. I made an attempt at a challenge labeled Run Every Day for a Month. Redfam was a difficult task to manage, and one that I wasn’t able to complete out of pure exhaustion. I did log at least 1 mile for 28 of the 30 days in the month of November though and totaled up 164.7 miles, a new month PR! That’s the most miles I have put in to a single month since I started running in September 2011. I didn’t complete the streak or the challenge, but 160+ miles is a success in itself.
Included in those miles are 3 consecutive sub 4 hour marathon finishes! My sub-4 runs have been few and far between lately, as I’ve been pushing in quantity of races but the last few weeks have felt great. I will have full recaps of each of these events coming soon. 2 of these races marked my first sub 4 finish in Mississippi & Florida, slowly checking off states.
Brooklyn and I spent 9 days in Walt Disney World over Thanksgiving with friends and family who all gave up their vacation time to celebrate with us at our wedding! It was a tremendous day, full of fun and beauty and we could not be more thankful for everyone who helped make it so special.
The rest of the week was spent in the parks celebrating, disneybounding and closing down the Magic Kingdom night after night.
December is coming quick and I have a few goals to help get through the month. I’ve got 2 marathons on the schedule and the potential of adding another. I’ll be running my 4th St. Jude Memphis Marathon this weekend and pacing 4:30 at the Inaugural Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon the following weekend. Plus a cross country drive to California. So here’s what I’m hoping to accomplish this month.
- 2 Marathon finishes. (Lifetime Marathon #38 & 39)
- Sub 4 finish in Tennessee
- Potential sub 4 in California (if added)
- Recap all 5 marathons on the blog
- 1 non-recap blog post per week
