As I’ve said on multiple occasions over the last few months, the Rock ‘n’ Roll race series has really been working hard to make improvements to the quality of their races. This quality over quantity concept led me to dive back in with the intention of scheduling several RnR races in 2015. Better medals, better entertainment, better courses, it creates a great environment for runners. One thing that RnR started offering a year or two ago is the Tour Pass. This is a one time purchase that allows you to run several different events. There is an option for a 3 race pack ($199), North American Race Pack ($449), or a Global race pass ($479).
If you are looking to run a handful of races the 3 race pack is an incredible deal! RnR race entries average around $100 each. Essentially this is a buy 2 get 1 free deal. Having this race pass meant starting with the RnR schedule when I started to plan my 2015 calendar. I was already registered for New Orleans when I received my Tour Pass so I had to find 3 more races to run.
Right away I knew I wanted to run the Nashville Country Music Marathon. I have wanted to run this race for years, it’s less than a 6 hour drive from home and it benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Plus, did you see my post a few months back after they released the medal design? Holy smokes they look great! My friend Kirstin had the chance to see them in person earlier this week, I stole this picture from her. (She doesn’t mind)
The rest of my calendar planning had to be built around my schedule at work. During spring break from school Brooklyn is going to run the Los Angeles Marathon so it works out great for me to go visit with friends in our nation’s capital and run in the RnR Washington D.C. Marathon. Plus, how awesome is this shirt? I don’t think I’m going to be able to pass it up at the expo.
That left one final race registration to use somewhere. I wasn’t sure where I was going to put this one, until they announced the new Southern Charm Heavy Medal. This is given for runners who participate in 3 of the 4 south region event weekends; New Orleans, Raleigh, Nashville, & Savannah. Since I was already signed up for 2 of these it only made sense to add Savannah on to my calendar and pick up a medal for running all the miles south of the Mason Dixon line! How great does this thing look? I love the design.
Remember if you are looking to run just 1 or two Rock ‘n’ Roll events in 2015 across the USA or Canada you can save $15 on registration for any half or full marathon with promo code: RUN8VA
***Note that I received a free Tour Pass 3 pack through the Rock ‘n’ Blog program. However, I do not receive financial compensation for my posts, and my opinions are my own. (Nobody else would want them)
