After completing the 2013 runDisney Goofy Race and a Half Challenge I made the decision to run again in 2015 for the 10th Anniversary run. It is no surprise that runDisney likes to pull out a few surprises for anniversary years and there are two of them coming up next race season.
Over the weekend runDisney released images for two new medal designs. The first was for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon in November. This year marks the 5th anniversary of this event weekend. The medal is colorful and features the designs used from the past 4 years on either side of the spinning portion of the medal.
Registration for Wine and Dine is sold out, but there are still spots available through charity options. St. Jude, for example, still has over 30 bibs available at various fundraising minimums and incentives. Check out the St. Jude Heroes Page for more information on how you can still get in on the fun of Wine and Dine weekend.
runDisney also released images of the 2015 medal design for the Goofy Challenge. I love the design and the Goofy elements used in the medal and the ribbon colors. There are some people who are disappointed because of its likeliness to a 10th anniversary medal used at a race a few years ago in Miami, but it doesn’t look like any medal I’ve ever received so I’m excited about it!
Registration for all the events of runDisney Marathon Weekend including both the Goofy and Dopey Challenges opens next Wednesday, but Annual Passholders can register starting today.
