As always, I am searching and brainstorming for new ways to fundraise for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Here is the game plan for my next fundraising adventure. Back in December/January a friend of mine, Krissy from Shiawase Life, issued a challenge to her internet/social media friends to donate to her cause as she was raising funds for Breast Cancer research and running in the Breast Cancer Marathon. Her challenge was simple, if she received a donation from each of the 50 states she would dye her hair bright pink for race weekend. Both of which she accomplished.
In Humble imitation of her fundraising efforts I have decided to seek a similar goal with a modified end result. My challenge is to receive a donation from every state in the country to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. If this goal is met by October 31st I will dawn a Sparkle Athletic skirt and a fiery red wig to run the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon on November 9, dressed as Princess Merida from Disney’s Brave. I am no stranger to running in sparkle skirts, last year I took the “Run Like a Fairy Challenge” and after reaching my fundraising goal for St. Jude I ran the 2014 Tinkerbell Half Marathon in Sparkle Athletic skirt and fairy wings.
As of right now I have received donations from 10 states, with the largest amount of donations coming from Mississippi, California, and Indiana. Can you help color in the rest of the map and claim your state? You can make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help me reach my fundraising goal and do some great stuff in the process to help the patients at St. Jude. With your help no patient or their family ever has to pay St. Jude for treatments received, they also cover all transportation, housing, and food costs to get not only the child in need to Memphis, but their entire family. Help cover the country in Gold to fight Children’s Cancer!
